Leda Custom Farm Equipment was established in 2000 by sole owner Damien (‘Henry’) Higgins. The company started out building customised farm equipment. It was then discovered that there was a good market for the product and by 2004 had an increased product range of 15 different pieces of horticultural machinery.
The motto at Leda Custom has always been ‘You want it, we can build it’ and we have built many of our standard range of items specifically customized to client requirements. In addition, our specialized engineering and design knowledge, and our fully equipped workshop and range of CNC machinery means we often build one-off machinery and parts.
In August 2007 Leda expanded its operations into a retail outlet, purchasing local bearings outlet CBC Bearings and Power Transmissions and starting up a new company, Leda Farm Equipment and Bearings (‘Leda Bearings’). Located in Seventh Street, Mildura, Leda Bearings specialises in the sale of all agricultural machinery spare parts, programmed maintenance, bearings, tools, power transmissions and all lubricants, with the motto ‘You want it, we got it’. They are the sole distributor of the CBC range in Mildura, and are also stockists for Bareco, Sparex and Otech amongst others.
In April 2014, Leda Ag was successful in its application to become the New Holland franchisee in the Sunraysia area, employing qualified New Holland staff. Leda Ag is confident the area has the potential to support continuous increases in sales, supported by the provision of outstanding service and spare parts support.
Leda Ag have also been successful in acquiring the Braud, Kawasaki ATV and Mules and Howard franchises for the Sunraysia area to further complement our growing machinery range.
Leda has expanded within Sunraysia, with a premises in Robinvale offering localised sales and service for customers in the area.
Construction has been completed on a new state-of-the-art facility, incorporating an all new machinery display area, showrooms, spare parts sales and warehouse, and a new manufacturing workshop, providing a ‘one-stop shop’ for agricultural and horticultural customers.
Situated at 666 Benetook Ave, the site has brought all Mildura / Buronga sites together at the one premises.
